Currently – September Edition

Happy September!!  I can’t believe this summer is practically gone!  I’m usually a little sad when I turn the Calendar and say goodbye to August, but this year, I seem to be ok with it.

Since I took yet another 2 month break (I know, I know, I honestly thought I would be doing better at this), I decided to break my silence with another Currently Edition.  So here we go!

Currently Watching:

“When Calls the Heart”.  Thank you Netflix!  And thank you Hallmark for making such a happy, only slightly cheesy, tv show.  There is only 1 season, so that’s a little sad, but hopefully there will be more.  If you liked Downton Abbey, I have a feeling you would like this.  Go check it out!

Also, Rizzoli & Isles is still going, so that keeps me happy on Tuesday nights.

Currently Reading:

Harry Potter Book 3…actually 4.  I literally have just a couple pages left and I’m done with 3.  I realized I left book 4 in my drawer at work as soon as I got home.  Gah!  Good thing I can grab it tomorrow.  Love the books!  Obviously they are better than the movies, but I still can’t get over how well done the movies are.

Currently Making/Baking:

Tomato Basil Pasta.  Look it up on Pinterest (I might also try and post it on here sometime)!  Super Easy, it’s one of those one-pot meals and takes about 20 minutes to make, probably less.  It doesn’t call for it, but I add Italian Sausage to give it a little protein (in which case turns it into a 2 pot meal).

Current Obsession:

In my June “Currently” post, I mentioned I was obsessed with looking at cruise vacations.  Well…we ended up booking one and I’m SUPER excited!  I have everything planned as much as I can right now, just waiting until it gets closer to our travel dates to book our flights and hotel and what not.  So yeah, that obsession is still going strong.

Anywhosies – Speaking of that Tomato Basil Pasta, I need to get cracking on that.

Hope you all have had a wonderful first day of September!

Currently – June Edition

It’s Sunday and I can’t believe the weekend is almost over!  It’s turned out to be a pretty fun weekend.

First, my husband, Mikey and I did a little clothes shopping (I love that I married a guy who likes to shop as much as I do.  And score!! I found a $6 skirt and a really cute pair of royal blue shorts, also for $6), followed by a Costco Shopping trip, followed by an evening of reading.

Saturday I had a spontaneous coffee date with one of my best friends and her little baby, followed by going out to dinner and hitting the bookstore where Mikey found a great deal on some books.

Because I find these kind of posts interesting, here is my overall June Currently’s.

Currently Watching:

~ Rizzoli & Isles – I’m SO happy this show was not cancelled!  The previous season was really short and we were thinking it might be their last since they had been last to get picked up, but so happy a new season has started.

Forever – I am sad to see it go.

Currently Reading:

~ Harry Potter, Book 1.

Currently Making/Baking:

~ Spicy Dr. Pepper pork roast. (yummy, yummy!)

~ I am also going to bake some chocolate chip cookies.  I have the ingredients and a mean sweet tooth today.  ; )

Current Obsession:

~ Looking at cruise vacations.  I said so in my FAQ page, but I once had a 2 month long obsession with planning a Disney World vacation. Well…this time it’s cruising.  What makes this worse, is that this vacation is actually doable, we just have to wait until 2016.  So needless to day I’ve spent hours researching, and planning, and day dreaming, and wishing, and hoping, and…well…I’ll stop there.

There you have it, my dears.  Now I am off to go do my workout and then to call my dad to wish him a happy Father’s Day.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Sunday Feelings

1

I both love and dread Sunday’s.  I love this day of rest, but I always get the Sunday night blues. It’s ok though, because it’s almost always the most peaceful day of the week.

In honor of Sunday and the week ahead, here is a list of things to do in preparation for the week.

1. Quiet time. ~  This is the day I always find my quiet time with Jesus (although, I always try to make an effort during the week also).  Whether it’s in the morning, or evening, it’s a special time.  Evenings especially, because that’s when I’m spending the most time preparing my heart and mind for the week.  It’s important to focus on Him, instead of the week looming ahead like a big dark cloud.

2. Clean home. ~ I try and do this on Saturday, but if it doesn’t get done, I make sure it’s at least picked up and wiped down on Sunday.  This alone helps immensely for the week ahead.  If I don’t do this, I go crazy by Wednesday with frustration and go on a mad cleaning frenzy…it’s not pretty.

3. Laundry. ~ No matter how hard I try I can’t seem to ever get laundry done on Saturday, it always ends up happening on Sunday.  But it’s nice to have clothes fresh and ready for the week ahead.

4. Pick out clothes for the week ~ or the next day, at the very least.

5.  Nap ~ Sunday afternoon naps are the best!

6.  Read or spend time doing something you enjoy. ~  Today, for example, I spent my afternoon watching Downton Abbey and crocheting a blanket.  All that was missing was some tea…:)

7.  Prepare meals for the week. ~ For when you feel like going above and beyond.  I don’t typically have the energy for this, but it’s something I think about.

8.  Bubble baths ~ These are a wonderful way to end an evening, it’s soothing and helps wind down your mind and body before bed.

And there you have it, short and sweet.  I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead.  Happy Sunday!

My Week of Nostalgia

11110269_10152936006704965_1086291562739569368_n

I have been feeling super nostalgic lately of my dancing days.  So I decided to put on my dancing shoes again.  It definitely hurt more than I remember (don’t worry, I warmed up A LOT before I attempted to do anything in my pointe shoes).  I felt really good and strong for the first two seconds en pointe, then immense foot cramps ensued, so that was the end of that.

I also discovered Kathryn Morgan’s Youtube videos and now I’m hooked…and possibly slightly obsessed.  I feel like she and I could be friends.  I’m sure her entire viewing audience feels that way, it’s impossible not to like her :)

Here is the link to her website if you’re interested:  http://ifthepointeshoefits.com

Anywho…Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  It is 70 degrees outside and I need to go out and enjoy it.

Have a great Saturday!

Talk About Overrated

9bf35419f7f54057f34bcb0bbd632dd0

Being an adult is so overrated, and not to mention stressful.

I have a Financial aid deadline quickly approaching and need to turn in one last paper, but I needed answers before I could fill out the questions.  I wanted to burry my head.  I wanted my mommy.  I wanted someone to hold my hand and tell me they will take care of it, and not to worry my pretty little head.

But instead I had to pull on my big girl panties and face this challenge head on.

So I called my mama.  She had me talk everything out with her.  She prayed with me.  I called the financial aid office.  I felt a little better.

Then I called her again and what she had to say was exactly what I needed to hear.  She reminded me that if this is what God wants for me, then everything is going to fall into place and the timing will work itself out.

Maybe I’m supposed to start school at a later quarter, or maybe God has something else for me that doesn’t involve school at all.  But for now, until I have a firm I answer, I will keep doing what I can and keep pursuing in this direction.  I will get the last paper turned in first thing Monday morning and I will put this all in Gods incredibly able hands.

As for right this minute?  That whole fort and coloring things seems to be a great idea ; )
